The live production is a mix between a Jukebox Musical and a Rock/Blues/R&B concert, with an all-Black cast and an all-Black band live on stage. This origin musical of Mae West explores from her early years as a Vaudeville performer, to her ascendency as a Broadway Producer, Actor, Director, and Playwright. She was a multi-talented, one-woman powerhouse, who broke barriers and never took no for an answer. We highlight her 1927 controversial play SEX - for which she was arrested and incarcerated - as well as the pivotal moments in her early life that made her the Mae West we recognize.
