Liverpool Fantasy

Forty years after its original production, Tony Award–nominated playwright Larry Kirwan’s LIVERPOOL FANTASY returns to Off-Broadway in a star-studded revival directed by Broadway’s Michael Herwitz (JOB).
“It is not just the Beatles without success, but the world without the Beatles, that Larry Kirwan imagines in ''Liverpool Fantasy.'' - The New York Times
It’s 1987, and the Beatles reunite in an alternate Liverpool - 25 years after John Lennon walked out of EMI Studios, taking George and Ringo with him. Paul is now a Las Vegas star, George a Jesuit priest recovering from a breakdown, John still principled but unemployed, and Ringo drumming with Gerry & The Pacemakers. As political tensions rise and old wounds resurface, Lennon is haunted by the question of what might have been. Reimagined as a must-see theatrical event, LIVERPOOL FANTASY is an alternate-history Rock & Roll reunion that asks what the world might have lost if the Beatles never changed it.
