Welcome to the Peacock Club! Primed for a workshop and World Premiere, Turn On Your Love Light celebrates the music of Don Robey, America's FIRST Black record mogul out of the segregated South in the 1940's-60s. The live production is a mix between a Jukebox Musical and a Rock/Blues/R&B concert, with an all-Black cast and an all-Black band live on stage. Don Robey’s catalogue of over 1,500 songs have been covered by Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, Grateful Dead, and more, with 8 #1 Hits, 46 Top 10 Hits, 80 Top 40 Hits, 24 Gold Records, 5 Platinum Records, and 1 4x Platinum Record.
